REPORT ON GROUP PROMOTIONAL STALL AT KILCOY SHOW 2024

The Sunshine Coast Dexter Promotion group attended the Kilcoy show on 26th and 27th July 2024 setting up their promotion tent near the stud beef cattle right next to where the Greenhills Dexter cattle were tied up. Members assisting on the stall were Aleck and Katrina McCloskey (who also ran the stud cattle section), John and Cynthia Andrews (who also had Cattle Clobber halters, leads, collars for sale) and Siobhan Ablett from Newinn Stud. Also Gareth Hunt our promotions officer.

The tent was in a good position for access by cattle people and on a thoroughfare which the public could use. Minimal promotion bags were given out. As the stud cattle is at one extreme of the showgrounds, to attract more of the public, the stall would have been better in the general stall area which would have put it in the middle of the showgrounds and where everyone would have walked past on the way to food. It would have been more difficult to have some cattle in that area.

All promotion is good and the Sunshine Coast group will continue to promote Dexter cattle wherever and whenever they can.
