2025 Royal Adelaide Show

30 August to 7 September 2025

It was 10 years since Dexters were last exhibited at Adelaide Royal. That was back in 2015 and it was Judith Hamel of Chamel Fields Dexter stud who exhibited back then. We thought it was time that Dexters were once more seen at Adelaide so made the trek across for the Show with 4 Dexters. 


They were well received by the other exhibitors and the public, and a special thank you was given by some of the organisers of the Show asking if we will return next year.

The results of the judging were:

Champion Junior Bull - Mijota Park Vittoria, owned by Don Hearne

Senior Champion Bull and Grand Champion - Carragheen Serendipity, owned by Louise Ball and Don Hearne

Junior Champion Female - Dun’N’Rusted Vixen, owned by Don Hearne

Senior and Grand Champion Female - Carragheen Up’N’Coming, owned by Louise Ball and Don Hearne

A highlight of the show was having Tracey Higham coming all of the way from Western Australia to support the Dexters being exhibited, and also meeting some of the local SA DCAI Members Andrew Landford of Whispering Waters Dexters, Kingsley Fletcher and Jenni Sleigh of LaRaJaKa Dexters.


After Interbreed judging we tied them up to the rails and interacted with the public passing by, there was a lot of interest and the cattle were given lots of attention.
 

We had a great time with a young team helping to prepare them for show and with the leading in the ring. Thanks to Matt Cooney and Carlie Mackelman for getting them there safe and fitting them ready to show. A big thanks to Tracey for the fun times and laughs throughout the show.
