ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL BREEDSHOW FOR QUEENSLAND 

Queensland Dexter Breed Show held on 28th April 2018 at Nanango Showgrounds

Firstly the Queensland Coordinating Committee members (although small in number) should be very proud of their huge efforts to put together the 2018 Queensland Breed Show.   

Also thank you to all the cattle breeders who willingly helped with the work of putting up rings etc.   This year it was held in conjunction with the Nanango Show, this is a first for the Dexters.   

 

We thank Nanango Show Society for providing the Dexters with their own shed and from all accounts received, and from what I noted on the weekend, everyone really enjoyed the friendship too.   

 

There was plenty of laughter and the 40 adults and 2 children who attended the Breed Dinner at the RSL on Saturday night, with a delicious meal, presentation of the trophies by our Judge, Peter Lyons, and the great social gathering with raffles etc, the 2018 Qld Breed Show will go down as one of our memorable and happy  years of showing cattle.  

Queensland has experienced very dry seasons once again this year, so congratulations must go to all twelve studs who presented their 39 cattle in excellent condition.

 

Friday night saw the Qld Coordinating Committee put on a bbq for breeders and an early night to prepare for showing on Saturday.  

 

We thank all businesses and Dexter breeders who helped with sponsorship, donations, advertising and buying raffle tickets.  The Qld Breed Show costs a huge amount to put together and without the exhibitors there would not be a show at all.     

We welcome the new members who joined us this year, always lovely to meet new members and what a great scene it was, on looking over at the stands to see so many visitors watching the Dexters.  It is encouraging to see so many of the public stopping and viewing our unique cattle.
