Manning Valley

Dexter Cattle Enthusiasts

of the Mid-North Coast

The Manning Valley Group are an enthusiastic and diverse group of people who in the main are hobby farmers but we do have some larger breeders amongst the group members. Many of our members had had little experience with cattle until they found Dexters and, for most that was the beginning of a whole new aspect of their lives.

We have regular meetings and these are mostly held at member’s farms where we gather to share our ideas and discuss farming and cattle issues. After the official parts of the meeting we generally take a walk around to see the members herd and also enjoy a social cuppa.

We pride ourselves on being a caring group with a strong social network that is the fabric that makes this group so strong.

Promoting Dexter cattle is all part of the fun and as a group we endeavour to promote at various events on the mid north coast.  We have been involved in such things as the Wauchope Lasiandra Festival and at the Kendall The Good Life event held on the Mid-North Coast of NSW which is focused on sustainability.

This year we have been at the Hannam Vale Open Garden Day and the Tocal Field Days. We provide information and visual displays, ever on the ready to sing the praises of Dexter cattle and the reasons why we love them.
